Mike Flegiel primarily devotes his practice to construction and commercial litigation, including the representation of design professionals in professional liability claims, developers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors in construction defect, contract, and lien enforcement and bond claims, and commercial general liability and professional liability insurers in all construction-related litigation.
He joined Bennett Legal Group as an Associate in 2016, and since then has helped clients achieve successful outcomes in construction and commercial related matters, including large civic projects, such as the design and construction of the Frost Museum of Science in Miami, FL; road and utility relocation projects; hotel and restaurant buildouts; condo, townhome, and residential projects; general contract disputes and land-use and city code related disputes.
Mike is admitted to the Florida Bar, and to the United States District Court for the Middle District and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association. He obtained his law degree, cum laude, from Florida State University; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of Florida. While at FSU Law, he served as a Legislative Intern for the Florida House of Representatives, and upon graduation served as a Staff Attorney for the Local and Federal Affairs Committee of the Florida House. Prior to joining Bennett Legal Group, he worked as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of St. Petersburg, advising various City Committees and bringing code enforcement actions to trial.
Mike resides in Orlando with his wife Jessica, who is an Assistant Public Defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit. They are proud parents to their young son, Henry, and dog, Murray. In their free time, they enjoy visiting national parks and skiing.
